Thirty years ago, Bluelite developed the original battenburg vehicle livery in partnership with the UK Police Scientific Development Branch.

• The battenburg design meets the requirements of the Royal Decree, with the application of prismatic materials reflecting 90 percent of shone light back to its source. As a result, vehicles can be seen up to a distance of at least 500 metres.
• On vehicle rears, diagonally upright stripes in a herringbone pattern form a high visibility chevron design.
• R3B approved materials offer 6 x the reflectivity or RA1 materials and 3 x the reflectivity of RA2 materials.
